LIGHTFAIR International 2012
UNION CITY, Calif.--(
)--Finelite Inc., a leading manufacturer of high performance lighting systems, has been recognized as a winner of the 2012 Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) Indoor Design SSL Competition announced May 10th at LIGHTFAIR International in Las Vegas, Nevada.?We are continuously innovating and striving for maximum efficiencies with our luminaires and returning that back to our customers with quality implementation and care.?
?This award recognizes our solid state lighting achievements for the High Performance Recessed LED (HPR-LED) Collection and we are honored,? said Jane White, Vice President of Sales and Marketing who accepted the award on Finelite?s behalf. ?We are continuously innovating and striving for maximum efficiencies with our luminaires and returning that back to our customers with quality implementation and care.?
Finelite is among the 43 manufacturers who submitted over 187 products for consideration but only 53 products, including the HPR-LED has been chosen as a ?Recognized? winner in the recessed modular category. Judges appreciated the design, serviceability, and dimming aspects of the HPR-LED collection, while good glare control and good even distribution were noted as well.
The HPR-LED collection is a complete family of luminaires ? 2x4, 2x2, 1x4, 1x2, 1x1 and wallwash - which has been closely designed and manufactured around the U.S. Department of Energy?s LED Luminaire Methodology. Following that methodology, Finelite is able to provide long lasting, sustainable LED luminaires for general lighting. The HPR-LED collection now holds an industry best 10-year warranty.
The indoor recessed LED collection is packaged with a mid-power LED light engine that runs very cool, thus delivering over 90% initial light output at 100,000 hours of operation. The entire collection comes standard with 0-10v dimming, is 100% serviceable from below, and has been rigorously and independently tested (LM79 and LM80). The HPR-LED ships in 10-days or less, is DesignLights? Consortium (DLC) qualified and Buy American Act of 2009 compliant.
This is Finelite?s fourth indoor NGL award including receiving ?Best in Class? honors in 2009 for the Curve LED desk lamp. The Edge by Finelite, an LED task undercabinet luminaire has also received winning recognition.
About Next Generation Luminaires? (NGL) Design Competition
The Next Generation Luminaires? (NGL) Solid State Lighting (SSL) Design Competition is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Illuminating Engineering Society, and the International Association of Lighting Designers. The NGL competition was launched in 2008 to promote excellence in the design of energy-efficient LED luminaires for general illumination in commercial lighting applications. The idea is to make it easier for lighting designers and specifiers to find LED lighting products that are worthy of specification. That means NGL-recognized products have to measure up on many fronts. The judges care about suitability and quality, not just energy-efficiency. ?This is not just a beauty contest,? said DOE Solid-State Lighting Program Manager Jim Brodrick. ?The winners also have to perform well.? www.ngldc.org
