Maxwell named Kansas State Bank president

Roger Maxwell, a veteran of community banking, will guide Kansas State Bank as its new president.

?Roger is a proven, successful leader in community bank,? Joseph McLiney, chairman of the bank?s board of directors, said Thursday in a news release. ?He possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience within the Ottawa market that will prove very beneficial to the bank. We will be relying on Roger to help guide the bank as it continues to grow over the coming years.?

Maxwell, a lifelong Ottawa resident, has more than 20 years of community banking experience in Franklin County, the news release said. In his previous role, Maxwell served as senior vice president and chief credit officer of Kansas State Bank, 236 N. Main St., Ottawa.

?I look forward to working with a terrific staff to continue the tradition of providing outstanding service to the community,? Maxwell said in the release.

Maxwell has served on the board of directors for the Kansas State Bank, First National Bank of Louisburg, Ottawa Coop Association, Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce, Franklin County Economic Development Council and Franklin County Fair Board, the release said.
