Philly Kids Rock Fest at Union Transfer on 02/23/2013 10:00 AM EST

Sprout ?, The Franklin Institute, The Please Touch Museum and others will join Trinity Playgroup on February 23rd for Philly Kids Rock Fest, a rock carnival featuring The Plants and the Lara and Joe Show and a performance by Rock to the Future?s Student House Band. The Plants are a Philadelphia-based band for kids, whose song ?Monster Under My Bed? was voted #1 song of 2011 by WXPN?s Kids Corner. The Lara and Joe Show is a husband and wife duo playing everything from the ABCs to the Rolling Stones. RTTF is a local youth band with a diverse repertoire sure to appeal to children and adults.

In addition to great music, kids will have the opportunity to meet Super Why from 24-hour preschool television channel Sprout. Kids will also create a group sculpture courtesy of the Clay Studio, make a musical instrument with The Franklin Institute, participate in a living story with Zoomdance and learn about the environment with Mom?s Clean Air Force. Kids will enjoy other free activities hosted by The Arden Theater Company, Soccer Shots Philadelphia, Metro Kids Club and more. There will also be tickets available for some great refreshments, face painting, tattoos, hair braiding, a moon bounce & slide, and games.

Tickets are $10/$12 at the door, and kids under 1 are free.
